- CALL TO ORDER: Roll Call
- DISCUSSION:
A. Regarding potential sidewalk repairs to the Barefoot Swing Bridge
B. Regarding replacement of the Barefoot Swing Bridge with potential timeframes
View the Results below:
The Barefoot Swing Bridge is approximately 80 years old and is operated and maintained by the City of North Myrtle Beach.
Mead & Hunt evaluated the sidewalk repair options and reviewed these with local contractors. The lowest option - Estimated cost of $750,000.
After much consideration and discussion, the City will discuss with the contractor the schedule and pricing if we were to only remove the concrete portion of the sidewalk and make repairs to the bridge beginning January 8, 2024. This will take approximately 7 weeks. Then, we would go back in at a later date in 2024 to replace the sidewalk. The City will need to discuss a Modified Opening Schedule with the United States Coast Guard.
Depending on the answers we receive from the contractor, the City may put this project our for rebid.
