[ARCHIVED] The Annual American Pride March is Scheduled for July 4

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The American Pride March will continue this year on July 4, 2022.

Volunteers will march the American Flag, the South Carolina Flag, the POW/MIA flag, and Purple Heart Flag more than eight miles on the sandy beaches of North Myrtle Beach.

Marchers will meet at Main Street for a ceremony honoring America’s Service members. Veterans and active-duty service members will be recognized.

The American Pride March is designed to culminate with the ceremony as the Salute from the Shore Flights pass, including F-16 fighter jets and C-17 military strategic airlift planes, fly over North Myrtle Beach. The flyover is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on July 4, 2022.

The American Pride March ends at the Horseshoe on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach.

Here’s the Schedule:

  • 11:15 a.m. teams begin their march starting from 59th Avenue North and Ocean Creek Resort on the south end. The teams will meet at the Horseshoe on Main Street.
  • 1 p.m. Salute from the Shore Flights.
  • 1:10 p.m. Mr. Bill Stewart, Chaplain for American Legion Post 186, leads the group in National Anthem ceremonies.
  • 1:11 p.m. Chris Vandenberg, Chief Master Sergeant (ret), commands military members to post colors as the National Anthem is performed.
  • 1:15 p.m. The invocation is provided by Chaplain Bill Stewart, of American Legion Post 186.
  • 1:25 p.m. Chris Vandenberg, Chief Master Sergeant (ret), offers opening remarks and introduces Mayor Marylin Hatley.
  • 1:30 p.m. Mayor Marylin Hatley give thanks to the volunteers, the organizers, and recognizes America’s service members and their role in protecting democracy in the United States of America.

The American Pride March is sponsored by the City of North Myrtle Beach, Coastal Carolina Carpet and Tile, Sugrue’s Pub & Eatery, Today’s Harvest Church, and American Legion Post 186.
