Dana Crowell is Promoted to the Rank of Captain in the North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Department
Dana K. Crowell has been promoted to the rank of Captain in the North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Department. She is in her 19th year as a law enforcement professional with the Department.
Captain Crowell began her career in 2002 in Uniform Patrol and spent time as a Field Training Officer and K9 Handler before transferring to the Criminal Investigations Unit in 2011. She rose to the rank of Sergeant and worked in Uniform Patrol and Training Division. She was promoted to Lieutenant in 2015.
As a Lieutenant, Crowell supervised many divisions, including Uniform Patrol, Community Services, Beach Patrol, Special Events, Support Services, Communications/Jail, and Training.
She is a graduate of the 134th Administrative Officers Course held at the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia College, Columbia, South Carolina.
Captain Crowell is an active member of the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives, the Southern Police Institute's Alumni Association, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association.
