The Public Works Department provides direct service to citizens: Garbage collection and disposal, water and sanitary sewer, road maintenance, storm drainage maintenance and repairs, mosquito control, beach cleaning and street sweeping.
The Department is also responsible for planning, management, construction, and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure. These indirect services are often unseen but are vital to our mission to ensure that the needs for growth and development are met while minimizing the impact on existing residents.
Divisions
The Public Works Department is comprised of six operating divisions: Engineering, Facility Management, Fleet Management, Sanitation, Streets and Drainage, and Water and Sewer.
